1. The air we breathe

The air is mainly composed of oxygen and nitrogen gases, as well as other gases in smaller amounts, such as nitrogen oxides, organic compounds, ozone, sulfur dioxide, and greenhouse gases. Tiny particles are also floating in the air, called particulate matter.
